67An Inconvenient Truth about An Inconvenient Truth
How often do we find that the lessons from history are being ignored.
I have been reading quite a bit about the history of our global temperatures.
I am not going to go into reference materials and sources here. However if any one really wants to authenticate my sources I will be able to.
In the last 5000 years there have been four recorded or researched warm periods.
The Minoan Warm Period: 200 years around 375 BC
The Roman Warm Period: 200 years around 175 BC
The Medieval Warm Period: 200 years around 900 AD
The Late 20th Century Warm Period: 200 years around 1950 AD
There is ample geological evidence and research that shows that these periods existed.
During the Medieval Warm Period, around or shortly before 1200 AD, evidence suggests that the Vikings colonized Greenland. They appear to have abandoned Iceland and Greenland around 1400 AD as global temperatures fell.
It may have been the cold or even the icing over of the main sea trading routes that resulted in their abandoning Greenland and Iceland.
Shortly before 1400 AD, the last Little Ice Age commenced. It lasted to about 1910 AD
From around 1650 AD to 1820 AD The River Thames Froze over. The Freezing of the River was celebrated with a Winter Carnival.
It was during this period that Charles Dickens popularized the romance of the Old Fashioned White Christmas.
The unusually cold summer of 1816, the year without a summer, forced Mary Shelley to spend her summer indoors. She and her husband entertained each other with horror stories, one of which resulted in her writing the novel Frankenstein.
The interesting thing about the four warm periods is that the current warm period has been the coolest of the four with a tapered cooling of the warm periods from the Minoan to the current warm period.
The current global temperatures indicate that the peak high temperature for the current warm period has already passed.
It looks like the lessons of our history have been overlooked with the current global warming predictions and scaremongering.
It appears to me and a great number of the scientific community that the lessons of history form "An Inconvenient Truth" about the politics of "An Inconvenient Truth".
The current weather extremes in the northern Hemisphere would seem to be heralding the advance of the next little ice age.

What precisely is your definition of the current warm period?

Precision forecasting? Won't happen in the foreseeable future. Precision data recording is only in it's infancy. That's where the problem arises with one side of the arguments basing information on the data that has been collected over an approximate 100 year period and applying that as a bench mark to the long term. They apply the Ostrich Theory when it comes to data interpreted from the geological records in the Ice Deposits and in Sedimentary Deposits. Because there is no accurate data or precise data we will stick Our heads in the sand and deny that any of that data simply does exist and we will build our models on the accurate precise data that we have collected.
After all if a whole religious group can be based on the fact that there is only a 5,000 year history of the earth's existence Then a few misguided intellectuals Like us can can convince the masses that we know what is going to happen. Because we can make computer models that function with the intelligence we feed into our programming then it is an absolute fact that our climate will heat up and melt all the ice that exists.
Now we have governments out there caught up in their own rhetoric and introducing a carbon tax.
Be that as it may I have been privileged to have acquired knowledge of the earth's geology and been able to use that knowledge to support me for a number of years.
I suspect I'm supposed to be writing about something here. I haven't really digressed all that far.
A precise definition is not really possible. But if this warm period did really start around 1910 then it should be a fairly safe bet that this warm period will not last until 2110.
There is ample researched evidence that the Gulf Stream is about ready to shut down for a period. Research on the internet appears to indicate that the gulf stream may have already shut down.
All indications are that the gulf stream carries heat from the tropics and warms air that makes England and Eastern Europe Habitable. The shutting down of the gulf stream then will herald the coming of a mini ice age.
I suggest that any definition of the current warm period will happen when the warm period ends and the cold begins. I expect there will be much debate about the end of this warm period.
It is now quite some years since I watched a documentary on the shutting down of the Gulf Stream and the coming of a mini Ice Age to accompany the event. I guess the information about that was dropped as part of the Ostrich Theory as well.
Well Eli, I hope there is enough information to make your own conclusion about what I might define as the current warm period.

Inconvenient Graphs
You can fool all of the people some of the time.
You can fool some of the people all of the time.
You can't fool all of the people all of the time.
There is a graph drawn in "An Inconvenient Truth". It is this same graph that is used to prove the existence of global warming. You all remember it, the graph that climbs and climbs and climbs, to take our current global temperatures off the wall and on into the stratosphere.
Here is what was left out. I don't know when the graph was made but I believe that any data that was showing any lowering of the temperatures was being ignored. This is not really what was left out.
What was omitted was scientific data that has been gleaned from the northern Ice Core Samples. These data and other data from other scientific and historical research are what has been ignored in the production of this graph.
I say this because Combined researching has shown the four warm periods as I have mentioned above existed.
Average earth temperatures have been displayed in graph form as has the current temperatures. The truth about those graphs is that the previous three graphs form a graph very much the same as the progress of the current graph.
At a given equivalent point to that on the current graph where the climbing line heads for infinity a similar prediction could have been made on each of the three previous graphs.
I wonder if there were those alarmists back then who would have been predicting all sorts of coming disasters and calamities.
Any way the important points to glean from all this is that the highest temperature for the current warm period has already been passed and global temperatures are heralding the advance of the next mini ice age.
Also that the current high temperature was lower than all of the previous three high temperature periods.
All in all Scientific evidence proves "An Inconvenient Truth" about "An Inconvenient Truth"
Just what are current students going to think, when they discover that they have all been hoodwinked by alarmists and political agendas that have hijacked the alarmist's theories.
Now it is evident that global warming has had its 'run'! What is to be done about things like Carbon Emission Taxes and other policies, developed to counter the "global warming"?
Let us hope that all of this can be put to benefit the world and the world population. The polices could be used to clean up industrial pollution, more dangerous than CO2 could possibly be. A further use would be to repair the damage that has been done to world habitats, or at lease provide for the prevention of further loss of natural species.
Lets get away from imaginary alarmist issues and start tackling the real issues.

I've been thinking about the Political agenda of Global Warming aka Climate Change. Ouch!
The roll of an Opposition?
And the hidden political agenda of global warming aka climate change.
The way I understand The roles of Governing Parties and Opposition Parties is that the Governing Party promotes a political agenda and the Opposition Parties argue the negatives of the agenda.
Here in Australia the Opposition parties are not arguing the negative. They are supporting an incorrect political agenda and simply arguing about different approaches to how best to tax us to implement global climate change reforms.
The overwhelming evidence is that there is global change but that that change is following or repeating patterns that have been proved to have occurred previously.
Now since there is overwhelming evidence to debunk global warming or as it is now called climate change why is it that opposition parties do not argue the negative? Obviously there is a hidden underlying political agenda. What is that agenda? Why can't we be told what the agenda is?
If the agenda was for our benefit then there would be no reason to keep it hidden. Obviously then we would be within our rights to conclude that what ever the hidden agenda is, it certainly is not going to be of benefit to us.
